There is nothing funny about this movie, in fact had I know it was a movie about dysfunctional people I would have passed. Why? Because movies like this have no freaking ending, they just end! I have enough dysfunction in my life, why would I want to waste my time watching it? Is it thought provoking, sure but only enough to make you uncomfortable without ever really addressing the issues it raises. John Lithgow’s character is supposed to be Trump, the evil developer on his 3rd wife yada, yada. But just being uncomfortable doesn’t make a dark comedy. If she had gone through with her desire that would have perhaps lead towards a dark conclusion instead of the bleak ambiguity. This movie misses the mark on so many levels.
