A significant historic episode about the righteous and brave operators in the Warsaw zoo in WW2. While there are numerous films on the unimaginable fate for the Jews under Nazi occupation, this also described the calamity for zoo animals in war torn countries (another film on animal, family pets, in WW2 was the 2009 "Glorious 39"; and hinted that others, Polish or Germans, either helped directly or turned a blind eye to the rescue activities. Brühl (born in Barcelona and raised in Cologne Germany) seems to be the actor of choice in similar tenet cinema as his roles in "Alone in Berlin 2017" and "Woman in Gold 2015." A must watch, at least once.
