One of my favorite, at the time being, my favorite Marvel movie (im sure it will change). It is funny, has good action, has a good cast, has a good villain, has a good story, and sets up another part of the MCU very well. Would recommend this to Marvel fans, but i am not surprised that a lot of people dislike this movie.

Pretty bad movie. Encourages violence and killing innocent people. The main characters are criminals, for goodness' sake! I do not think Marvel did a very good job with this film. Disgustingly obscene, savage, and immoral.

This is a great addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has good acting, good plot, and catchy music. There are a few swear words, and some of the humor is a little inappropriate. 8 out of 10 stars for Guardians of the Galaxy.

The soundtrack is pretty much the best mixtape of the late 70s. The plot is rather predictable.

This movie was just okay. I really don't understand the hype. You're really not seeing anything new here for one, and the story is really really really boring a lot of the time. The soundtrack was fun. If I have any hope for the guardians it's that they become more interesting as they get connected into the marvel universe more. I'm willing to watch the sequel but I don't have high hopes.

I liked the movie. It was funny and entertaining. I look forward to the next one. Meanwhile I am going to read the books.

Pure fun and action. There are a couple of moments I wince at, but overall it doesn't take itself too seriously. Plus they save the galaxy by holding hands. How can you be mad at that?

If you want a film that is exciting and fun at the same time, get Guardians of the Galaxy.

I have to admit, I was most impressed (also) by the movie, "Guardians of the Galaxy" - while incredibly waky and base in humor, thought maybe we had stumbled into an 12year old's comic (yeah, I know, hush, wait... ), it was ALSO metaphorically rich - and we're actually talking "cosmic humor" here. Groot, for one, is portrayed as, or more accurately, referenced as, quite the mindless idiot with a 1yr old infant's "me-me-me" focus ("'I am Groot' is all he says," his sidekick apologizes). Then Groot somehow seems to stumble into actually solving some of the problems encountered by the band of misfit heros that Groot plays an increasingly expanding role in (so to speak [hint, hint]).. but as so much of the picture is all about -- ILLUSION -- this tree, turns out to be, hmmmm, should I give it away? Really? Well, what is the mystical relevance of a tree? uhmmmm, And what function might that role fulfill? And then there's the "baby Groot" who I will rename as Groot Reborn. Now, if you haven't seen it, and if you like metaphysical humor... Oh, and if you want to sell something, do you not go where it ain't, and then speak the language (but am getting ahead of things here)...

Peter Quill: Well that's just as fascinating as the first 89 times. What is wrong with Giving Tree here?
Rocket Raccoon: Well he don't know talkin' good like me and you, so his vocabulistics is limited to "I" and "am" and "Groot," exclusively in that order.

Well, on my planet, there's a legend about people like you. It's called Footloose. And in it, a great hero, named Kevin Bacon, teaches an entire city full of people with sticks up their butts that, dancing, well, it's the greatest thing there is." Gamora: "...Who put the sticks up their butts? That is cruel..."
