The story starts of a bit slowly, but gets very engaging as you go on.
There are author's remarks at the end, and an introduction to 'Two Boys Kissing', which is also recommended and available from VPL. It will interest readers older than the YA it is directed act.

When Paul meets Noah, they are drawn to each other. The two quickly get together, and the book covers the ups and downs of their relationship. The story also includes a range of colorful characters: Infinite Darlene, a fabulous transgendered girl, to Tony, who’s religious parents have never really accepted him.
Read this if you like: GLBTQ+, cute, sweet, funny.

I can't believe David Levithan was brave enough to choose a controversial subject such as GLBTG as a major theme in his very first novel. However, I loved how he managed to weave the theme in a funny, witty, and suspenseful story.

This book. ANEKA:LTJAEK.
In my journey of LGBT themed novels, the road started with this very book. Boy Meets Boy has a very flat start, with the main character seeming very superficial and too perfect. This turns out to be exactly what Levithan wanted, as he uses this to show the flaws within society concerning LGBT issues and creates major character development while he is at it. I feel any gay male will especially have a easy time relating to one of the colorful cast members and it really enhances the experience of reading Boy Meets Boy.

It's a quick, relatable read about the ups and downs of a teenage relationship.
Not unpredictable, but quite funny!

"Now, 'it's a free country' has to be the lamest reason ever invented. It's something people say when they have no other good excuse for what they've done."

" I am not alarmed when Infinite Darlene tells me things are such a mess. For Infinite Darlene, things are always such a mess; if they weren't, she wouldn't have nearly enough to talk about."
